Queens pays homage to Auckland's rich maritime heritage through its thoughtfully curated interiors. Guests can enjoy sweeping views of Auckland's iconic waterfront, with the design narrative striking a considered balance between the past and present, blending nostalgia with refinement.
Queens’ design strikes a thoughtful balance between transportive escapism and an approachable everyday retreat by contrasting raw and refined elements throughout. Exposed dark timber tones, lining boards, worn finishes and patinated brass accents evoke the well-loved character of a wharf structure weathered over time.
The use of timber anchors the space with warmth and organic texture, and contrasted rustic stone with the sleek glazing. Luxurious velvet curtains and antique brass finishes creates an inviting ambiance that blends comfort and sophistication.
This unique hospitality offering, the hotel, and the extensive reshaping of One Queen breathes new life into the heart of Auckland City. With an anticipated additional 1,000 people here each day we’re proud to have been involved in designing stunning experiences - like Queens - to ensure they keep coming back.
Subtle curves in the layout, furnishings and design motifs mirror the organic shapes of the harbour and boats. The architectural detailing honours these fluid lines, from the sinuous bar face to the arched kitchen pass and curved circular ice-well for displaying fresh local seafood from the raw bar.
Inside, robust custom-designed tables in deep burgundy tones underscore the culinary theatre of the vibrant open kitchen. At ground level, the venue features a warm, cosy wine store with floor-to-ceiling retail wine racks that then cascades into the back-of-house space, revealing itself as the entrance to the rooftop oasis on the 21st floor.
