A world-class surf lagoon that will generate meaningful social, environmental, and economic value

Auckland Surf Park

The Auckland Surf Park is a sustainable development centered on the creation of a world-class surf lagoon – the first of its kind in New Zealand. Warren and Mahoney is proudly leading the architecture and landscape architecture on this exciting project.
With Aventuur and their project partners, we’ve considered every aspect of the design to provide an authentic experience for all levels of surfers, from beginners to hard-charging grommets, through to those surfing with families and into their later years. The park caters for all skill levels, abilities, ages and stages and will encourage new people in to get hooked on the immense benefits that surfing offers.

Complementary services only serve to bolster and deepen the experience – its healthy F&B offerings and targeted coaching, coupled with onsite accommodation, means the surf park experience will offer the full spectrum of support to instill a passion for the sport for all who experience the facility.
Jonathan Coote, WAM Project Principal
We wanted to create that sense of excitement from the moment you arrive. As soon as you catch a glimpse of a peeling set of waves – you’re connected to the energy that the sport provides. The beauty of the surf park is that there are a huge variety of spaces and places for everyone to enjoy – and its safety features make learning to surf or honing your skills a much safer and thoroughly enjoyable experience. We really want everyone to ‘get the stoke’ that surfing and being connected to nature provides.
