‘Te Arikinui’ is the chiefly title gifted to new Pullman Hotel at Auckland Airport by Kiingi Tuheitia, offering a world-class experience for travellers at the gateway to Aotearoa New Zealand.

Designed in partnership with our clients Tainui Group Holdings and Auckland Airport, and collaborators Space Studio, Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport honours the history and values of Tainui iwi. The design concept 'Sea to Sky' - is inspired by the journey of adventure and discovery by the people of Tainui waka following their arrival at Manukau Harbour. Exterior patterns extend into the interior surfaces, drawing inspiration from our diverse natural habitats, marine and bird life, and iconic coastal formations. From foreshore to future, from sea to sky.

Comprising 311 guest rooms, Te Kaahu bar, dining and lounge, Kuriri Café and Eatery, meeting rooms and gymnasium, Te Arikinui stands as the only five star premium hotel at Auckland Airport.

"Te Arikinui Pullman Hotel is designed with a deep understanding of travellers’ desire for authentic, personalised experiences that embody the essence of the local culture", says WAM Project Principal Jonathan Hewlett. "Each visit delivers a memorable experience inspired by the spirit of discovery, past, present and future."

“We believe Te Arikinui sets a new global standard for its fusion of authentic cultural designs with understated luxury. This addition to the Auckland Airport precinct is one of New Zealand’s most unique hotel experiences and a memorable way to start or finish a journey to or from Aotearoa New Zealand,” says Auckland Airport's Chief Commercial Officer Mark Thomson.

We’re incredibly proud to have delivered this project alongside our clients, Tainui iwi, and our project partners.
