Founded in 2005, the International Architecture Awards is the oldest, annual public celebration of global architecture, regarded internationally as the world's most important ‘global mark of excellence’.
The Awards recognise the best international architecture practices, as well as the hundreds of corporate clients, developers, state and local governments, institutions, and general contractors that produced them.
“Following a rigorous process from a record number of international submissions, this year’s award-winning projects highlights the amazing work done by the talented architecture visionaries whose talent and innovation have created talking points that will span generations", states Christian Narkiewicz-Laine, Museum President, The Chicago Athenaeum,
“The projects were judged against a range of criteria including design vision; innovation and originality; capacity to stimulate, engage and delight occupants and visitors; accessibility and sustainability; how fit the building is for its purpose and the level of client satisfaction."
"I am delighted with this year’s selection and praise these dedicated firms and individuals and their hard work and their commitment to define a better world. Congratulations to all of this year's winners.”
Managing Director John Coop says these results are testament to Warren and Mahoney’s consultative approach.
“On behalf of our clients and partners we are humbled to receive these awards across commercial, transport and infrastructure sectors. As the only New Zealand practice to have been awarded among 41 nations, we’re proud to see Aotearoa design represented on the world stage.
“In particular, we’re delighted that Waterview Connection continues to be globally recognised for its consultative, community-centric approach. Together with the Boffa Miskell, the Well Connected Alliance, the Waterview community, iwi and council partners, this project has not only delivered functionally for Auckland, it has been consistently recognised as an international benchmark for infrastructure excellence.”
